Taylor 600 Series Guitars

Guitar Store news Taylor

Taylor's maple guitars have been revoiced and paired with specially seasoned spruce to produce a richer, warmer sound. Nearly every aspect of Taylor’s maple 600 Series guitars has been refined to broaden their musical range and enhance their visual appeal. The result is maple like you’ve never heard it before: rich and warm, with a multi-dimensional musical voice that responds wonderfully to every playing style. Taylor's hand-rubbed “Brown Sugar” stain adds a deep, luxurious hue to maple’s beautiful figure. In every way, the 600s reveal the finest a maple guitar can offer.

Blueprint For a New Voice
From the violin family to archtop guitars, maple and spruce are a historical pairing. Though maple guitars are known for clear, bright sound and crisp articulation, Taylor's revoiced 600s evoke rich warmth and sustain for the complete sound of other classic tonewoods like rosewood and mahogany.

Tone-Enhancing Design Features
From custom bracing for a rich, warm tone, to specially roasted tops producing a played-in sound, nearly every 600s feature has been refined to enhance the playing experience.

V-Class Bracing
A revolutionary design that balances the flexibility and stability of the top, V-Class bracing produces unmatched sustain, volume, and intonation.

Torrefied Tops
As wood naturally ages, the sound of a guitar becomes more resonant. Torrefaction is a roasting technique that accelerates this, enabling a guitar to sound much older. The result is an incredibly responsive top and a sound as if notes are falling out of the guitar when you play.

The cutaway maple/spruce Grand Concert has been revoiced to be richer, warmer and more complex, adding extra depth to the Grand Concert body’s natural clarity and top-end chime. Tone-enhancing strokes include a new back bracing profile, a torrefied (specially roasted) top that yields wonderfully aged tonal character, protein glues that optimize the tonal transfer, and an ultra-thin, 3.5-mil gloss finish to enhance the acoustic resonance.

Aesthetically elegant with subtle tone-enhancing details, the 614ce is a completely unique guitar in the already diverse Taylor family. Solid maple back and sides, recently revoiced by Andy Powers for greater warmth, deliver a focused, transparent response that's remarkably player-reflective. A torrefied spruce top, specially roasted to produce a sweeter, more played-in sound, offers clarity and balance supercharged by V-Class bracing, which pumps out room-filling volume and longer sustain. Complete with ES2 electronics and a hardshell case, the 614ce is a versatile acoustic guitar that can be adapted to almost any musical scenario.
