New Taylor Guitars for 2022

Guitar Store news Taylor

Taylor Guitars are expanding the available options for their GT body shape and adding a very interesting extension to the American Dream Grand Pacific models.

GTe Blacktop

Taylor GTe Blacktop

Introducing the Walnut / Spruce GTe Blacktop. The newest GT offering to join the Taylor line debuts a new sound and look with walnut back and sides and eye-catching blacktop treatment.

Taylor is excited to give its newest body style, the compact GT (Grand Theater), a fresh look and sound in the form of a blacktop (spruce) edition featuring solid American walnut back and sides. Tonally, walnut showcases a woody, focused midrange and, together with the GT body and C-Class bracing, yields a punchy, responsive voice that amplifies and records exceptionally well and cuts through in a mix with other instruments. Model details include comfortable chamfered body edges, a contrasting maple/black rosette, 4mm Italian
acrylic dot fretboard inlays, a thin matte-finish body with a black top, a black pickguard and Taylor Mini nickel tuners. The guitar also features onboard ES2 electronics and ships with Taylor’s lightweight yet sturdy AeroCase.

GTe Mahogany

Taylor GTe Mahogany

Meet the GTe Mahogany. Rustic style and a bluesy feel bring an enticing new flavor to the GT body shape.

The latest expansion to the GT family serves up a fresh look and feel with all-mahogany construction and rootsy musical character. Sonically, the mahogany will produce a woody midrange with a strong focus on the fundamental note, with a balanced attack thanks to mahogany’s natural compression effect as a top wood. Inside, C-Class bracing dials up more power in the bass range, producing a surprisingly rich low end for a smaller guitar. The player-friendly body includes chamfered edges, while the comfortable 24-1/8” scale length creates a relaxed handfeel that makes fretting chords and bending notes easy on the fingers.

Aesthetically, the GTe Mahogany’s appointments reflect its rustic personality, featuring a thin matte finish and Urban Sienna stain. The eucalyptus fretboard, bridge and peghead overlay add a touch of earthy variegation, accented by a maple/black rosette and 4mm dot inlays. Taylor Mini nickel tuners round out the visual details. The GTe Mahogany includes our popular AeroCase for sturdy protection at an exceptionally light weight.

AD27e Flametop

Taylor AD27e Flametop

Introducing the AD27e Flametop. The newest Grand Pacific to join the American Dream Series boasts a sound unlike any Taylor you’ve ever heard, with a rootsy aesthetic and all-maple construction.

Just like the debut of the Grand Pacific body style revealed a different flavor of Taylor sound — warm and seasoned, with notes that blend smoothly together — the new AD27e Flametop from the American Dream Series leans even farther away from the sound often associated with Taylor. The guitar features a figured maple top, solid maple back sides, and a maple neck, but forget any association of brightness you might have with maple guitars. Between the GP body, maple top, V-Class bracing and the choice of uncoated D’Addario Nickel Bronze strings (.012-.053), master builder Andy Powers has shaped this guitar’s voice into an earthy, midrange-focused sound. By design, the guitar produces fewer overtones, giving it a dry, more muted, slightly mellower sonic texture that will sound right at home in Americana circles and make a great strummer for chunky
acoustic rhythm work. Visually, the guitar channels the gritty character of a worn-in pair of boots or jeans with a dusky Woodsmoke finish, shaded edgeburst and satin sheen. Like other American Dream models, the Flametop features chamfered body edges, 4mm dot inlays in Italian acrylic, and onboard ES2 electronics (also available without electronics). The guitar ships in a Taylor
AeroCase.
